The Black Fox's Twenty Questions

1. How Long Have You Been in Revel Grove?
Since before the turn of the century- '99 was my first season.

2. What's Your Favorite MDRF Show?
Pubsing!

3. What's Your Favorite Foodstuff & Drynk?
Helles Lager and Yakitori Chicken Sticks w/Rice, heavily supplimented with garlic and Tabasco.

4. What's Your Favorite PubSing song?
Wilde Mountain Thyme and The Boatman.

5. What's Your Favorite MDRF Memory?
I've been spontaneously asked several times perform at weddings during the off season when at faire- it's always an honor when a couple deems my talent worthy of hire to grace their wedding.

6. What's Your Favorite Game at MDRF?
Aquiring garlic for my Yakitori Chicken from the Peasant Bread booth.

7. Who performs your favorite MDRF Music?
The Rogues and Wolgemut- fun to juggle to!.

8. What's your assessment of security at MDRF?
They can be a but unnecissarily terse when clearing the grounds after cannon. Fortunately, I've never otherwise had a problem with them. I have, however been unable once to gather any first aid staff to attend to an injured patron in the parking lot after closing cannon had fired. I hope and expect management has learned that as far as med staff should be concerned, faire doesn't end 'till the last rennie safely leaves the lot.

9. What's the longest time you've ever spent in the parking lot in gridlock after the day's show was over?
About 90 minutes. It can be good to have a didgeredo or the like onhand to pass the time.

10. Have you ever been Wenched, Rogued, or Kilt-checked?
XXX Answer to go here. XXX

11. How Long Is Your Faire Day?
Usually 11am or so to cannon, and then on to whatever afterfaire happenings. Sometimes as long as 13 hours.

12. Ever been completey trashed at MDRF?
Oh yes.

13. Why Do You Like MDRF over Other Faires?
The grounds are beautiful, and unpaved! There's nothing worse than a treeless, paved renn faire (PARF!). At MDRF, it's easy to find a place to be, and simply enjoy the day- at many other faires, there's really nowhere to go to just be there; the entire faire is a constant shuffle from shop to show.

14. What Do You Like at other Faires that MDRF doesn't have?
A PG13 area, like at Tux.

15. How important is being historically accurate at MDRF?
Not very. The Renaissance is far to interesting a period to pick one location and one time, and exclude all others. I find that I more enjoy a faire where Robinhood and pyrates can coexist along with wizards and fairies, then I would enjoy anyone commenting about how inaccurate and unperiod things are. Such individuals might consider SCA.

16. What Vendor is missing at MDRF?
Lundegaard, despite the fact I still probably wouldn't buy steel.

17. Who's Your Favorite Vendor at MDRF?
Whitehart tavern!

18. What annoys you most about MDRF?
The persistant lack of recycling for plastic cups at the taverns.

19. What's The One Thing You'd Change About MDRF?
Some other faires offer a 'Friends of the Faire' program to those who attend regularly/habitually. Some of the benefits include a 'friends only garden', to serve as a meeting place or place to change into garb at the faire, access to preseason character/speach workshops, or the like. MDRF obviously has a considerable community of habitual rennies, and the argument could well be made that our presence contributes to the faire as a whole. It would be nice to see management give some acknowledgement to this group, and perhaps offer a similar program.

20. Who's Your Favorite MDRF Cast Character?
Don't know that I could pick one.
