The Black Fox's Twenty Questions 1. How Long Have You Been in Revel Grove? The Black Fox (Steve) has been seen and unseen in Revel Grove since the turn of the century (2006 will be seven seasons). 2. What's Your Favorite MDRF Show? I tend to enjoy whatever the Royals are doing and I never miss Emerys Fleet, the Ratchatcher's show. 3. What's Your Favorite Foodstuff & Drynk? I enjoy a hard cider and scotch egg for breakfast, an ale and a soup-laden breadbowl for lunch, then more ale, a turkey leg and finished with a small pecan pie with icecream and whipped topping. 4. What's Your Favorite PubSing song? Auld Lang Syne. 5. What's Your Favorite MDRF Memory? Becoming engaged to my lady, the saucy NoirCyn, Cynthia, at the 2003 festival with the help of His Majesty. In 2004, getting married to said strumpet whilst being knighted by the King. 6. What's Your Favorite Game at MDRF? Is making out with every taudry female within sight whilst yer wife's back is turned considered a sport? 7. Who performs your favorite MDRF Music? Pyrates Royale. . .of course!. 8. What's your assessment of security at MDRF? I think the no-weapons policy is annoying, peace-tied should be fine. 9. What's the longest time you've ever spent in the parking lot in gridlock after the day's show was over? One night during the 2003 season we clocked over two-hours waiting to leave. Now we just party outside the gate and wait till the lot's cleared of the amateurs. 10. Have you ever been Wenched, Rogued, or Kilt-checked? I've enjoyed many a kilt-check. 11. How Long Is Your Faire Day? If leaving from home in Delaware, we're up by 530-6 am. Out the door by 730 and arrive in the lot sometime after 9. Since we hang out after faire before leaving for home, we find ourselves hitting the sack sometime around Midnight. . . so I guess about 18 or more hours in a Saturday. . then do it all again on Sunday. 12. Ever been completey trashed at MDRF? Yes, if NoirCyn sticks with water all day (she's not a known drunk like her hubby). So unless I've travelled alone or I have the young'ins in tow, I end each evening with a nice, hazy buzz and a smile. 13. Why Do You Like MDRF over Other Faires? The Friendliness of the cast and crew and the atmosphere. This may sound silly but the ground is the best at MDRF. Other faires are covered in gravel trails or worse. . .asphalt . . but MDRF (for the mostpart) is dirt and mulch. . .seems more authentic somehow. 14. What Do You Like at other Faires that MDRF doesn't have? Flush Privies and running water! 15. How important is being historically accurate at MDRF? I think if you're on staff, it's really important because that's what the faire advertises that it is. For us playtrons, it's fun to try and be accurate, but I paid money to have a good time, not worry about accuraccy. . . that's just a waste of time to worry about. 16. What Vendor is missing at MDRF? A portrait painter or charicacture artist and a tobacconist. 17. Who's Your Favorite Vendor at MDRF? Crosewl Magic - the incredible hand-made majik items of Michael Rose & Tom Crowl on Mary's Dale Lane. 18. What annoys you most about MDRF? Those Dragon sellers who constantly ask you to pet their dragons. MDRF should spray for them. They're more annoying than yellowjackets! It's sad for some of the vendors near the dragon-hawkers as many returning potential customers avoid any area the dragon folks inhabit. 19. What's The One Thing You'd Change About MDRF? Setting up Flushable Privvies (at least one building's worth) like they have at PARF, NYRF and others. 20. Who's Your Favorite MDRF Cast Character? Of course that would be Henry VIII, Stupina, and whichever character Scott Sophos has been assigned! |
