What's All This, Then?
Welcome to Friends of The Maryland Renaissance Festival! A group of MDRF fans got together and built this site for everyone who loves the Maryland Renaissance Festival to enjoy. Within the boundaries of this small website, one can experience (through the opinions of our membership base), all the pagentry, entertainment, vendors, atmosphere, and pleasantries that this "Best of ALL U.S. Renaissance Festivals" has to offer. Join us and see what the HUZZZAHHHH is all about!

How Do I Join?
Go to the Maryland Renaissance Festival and have the time of your life. Then come back to this page. That's it, you're in the "club" now. Just love the Festival is all we ask.

To become a full member there are other things you should do. First, go to our Bulletin Board and sign up as a user and please use your "faire name/character name" as your username.(*Note if you have problems signing on with your new password, please inform Sir Black Fox, there have been more than a few that have had such problems).

To become an Full Member, you have to participate in the board and you have to provide us with a photo for your biography page and answer Sir Black Fox's 20 Questions.

With your FULL Membership you will receive (during the MDRF season from Sir Black Fox), your membership card and a membership certificate. . . FREE! That's right, our membership is a no-cost organization! We do have a donation page, but giving is completely voluntary. (The money goes to things like the cost of the membership materials and the upkeep of the website).

Why Would Someone Do All This?
A love of Renaissance Faires, expecially MDRF, inspired The Black Fox to pay homage to the one place on Earth that he yearns for nine months out of the year! Actually, these pages started out as critiques at blackfoxdesigns.com in 2001. In 2002 it grew into a a single webpage, a webring, and a Yahoo Groups page( June 24 is our anniversary). In 2003 it grew into more than just one page. In 2004, The Black Fox plunked down his own cash and devoted much time to the artwork and writing (and hand-coding) that makes up the site in a huge format. That format is similar to what you see today, just expanded.

How can I contribute content to this site as a member?
By the start of the 2006 season, there will be many ways to add content to this site by way of critique. Forms will be set up for every vendor at MDRF from food to art and for all the shows and activities. You can write up a few positive lines about your experience and The Black Fox will post them here for folks to read. He will not post any negative comments though. The lack of any comments at all will be negative enough in regards to bad experiences.
